OUR STORY
Our journey started several years ago when we went to "look" at the the chicks at Coastal Farms. We went home with 8 babies that day! In a few short weeks we were adopting chickens from Craigslist ads and neighbors brought us chicks that were abandoned in the neighborhood.
WE WERE HOOKED!
We spent some time raising pasture-raised meat chickens for ourselves. Our chubby little meat chickens could run and forage just like any other chicken and we loved raising them!
Next thing we knew, we got wind of an existing egg business looking for a buyer. We went to check it out and found ourselves the new owners of Schack Farm Eggs. To truly make it our own, Thistle Family Farm was born!.
In 2016, we decided that we wanted to expand our duck egg production. When looking at options for expansion, we learned that White River Ducks in Scio was for sale.
After a visit at their farm, we knew that buying that business was a no-brainer! Our business practices were identical and adding that operation to our pasture was a perfect fit!
We hand raise our birds with tender loving care. This is more than just a business for us. These birds are family. Their eggs are gifts and nothing makes us happier than to be able to share these gifts with you!

Our pasture raised chicken eggs are fresh and delicious! Our hens are fed a GMO Free, Corn & Soy Free Feed that we mill fresh on our farm, in addition to the grass, bugs and worms that they find on their own. Our hens are truly happy hens!
